Manufacturing Information-

 

Jaguar is extracted from the seed endosperm of Cyamopsis tetragonolobus, with its core component being galactomannan (mannose : galactose ≈ 2:1). Industrial production consists of five procedures: raw material pretreatment, endosperm separation, hydration modification, crushing and drying, as well as sieving and classification. The whole process is dominated by physical processing supplemented by mild chemical modification.

 

Raw Material Selection and Pretreatment: Guar beans are mainly produced in India, Pakistan and the southwestern United States. Raw materials are cleaned, impurity-removed and screened to eliminate damaged, insect-eaten grains and contaminants, ensuring high purity and germination rate.

 

Husking and Endosperm Separation (Core Process): Seeds are roasted at 60–80℃ for 10–15 minutes to embrittle the seed coat. Differential-speed grinding and air separation are adopted to separate the seed coat (husk), germ and endosperm. The endosperm forms split jaguar splits, which are polished and refined to remove residual seed coats and obtain refined endosperm splits. By-products (husk + germ) are processed into guar meal, a high-protein animal feed.

 

Hydration Modification and Viscosity Enhancement: Refined endosperm splits are put into a double-cone mixer for pre-hydration with warm water at 40–50℃ for 2–4 hours, with moisture content controlled at 30%–40%. This activates hydration sites of galactomannan and improves the final viscosity and dissolution rate.

 

Crushing, Drying and Milling: Pre-hydrated endosperm splits undergo tabletting, coarse crushing and ultrafine grinding (low temperature ≤40℃ to prevent component degradation). Hot air drying at 60–70℃ is applied until moisture content reaches 8%–12%, followed by ultrafine grinding to the target particle size of 200–800 mesh.

 

Sieving, Classification and Packaging: Rotary vibrating sieves classify products by particle size, viscosity and hydration rate into food-grade, pharmaceutical-grade and industrial-grade specifications. Products are aseptically packaged for moisture-proof and light-shielded storage. Pharmaceutical-grade jaguar requires additional purification (ethanol precipitation / spray drying) to meet pharmacopoeial standards.
